New Space – New Stuff

filmschoolsf locationThe dust has mostly settled and we are now in our new home at 925 Mission Street. We’ve been super-busy with the Big Move but are now getting a little breathing room – and a chance to make some big things happen in our new space. There are still a few things left to polish up, but in general, we are all moved in and running at full capacity.

The new editing labs are especially sweet and the Main Stage is looking great with our green screen (almost) installed. Of course, for some reason, everyone hangs out at Harmony’s desk up front.

“We’re thrilled with the way our new home has come together and are really looking forward to opening up to the wider public. Alumni parties, Mixers, speakers and meetups; we’ll be making a strong effort to raise and solidify our profile by hosting a wide array of events,” said FilmSchoolSF co-founder, Jeremiah Birnbaum.filmschoolsf location

“Part of what makes this place great is that being at street-level, right in one of the busiest parts of town, allows people to just pop in off the street and check us out. There is so much sidewalk traffic. We’re already seeing an increase in interest just from walk-ins,” said Director of Marketing, Christopher F. Smith.

We’ve already held a FREE Day of Film School (our 4th), a couple Open Houses and a good old fashioned party tofilmschoolsf location help break the place in. And our event calendar is quickly filling up. We’ve got an HIV benefit coming up, another FREE Day of Film School, an Alumni Party and an Augmented Reality Meetup on the books in the next couple weeks. Not to mention that the next 1-Year Digital Filmmaking Program starts on September 20th, another 5-Week Filmmaking Workshop begins on October 4th, our overhauled Film Acting Classes fire up again on October 4th and the next Screenwriting Workshop lights up on October 11th. Basically, there’s a heck of a lot going on. And it’s awesome.

A big “thank you” goes out to everyone that helped make this move possible. Students, alumni, friends and family – everyone. We couldn’t have done it without you. Stay tuned to this blog and our Facebook page and we’ll see you our our next party.
